The LIIKA ironing board utilizes suction cups which allow it to be attached to any non porous surface. This eliminates legs which can be knocked over and it also allows the device to be attached to a height level which is comfortable to the user, eliminating strain. The articulating arms, which rotate and pivot, offer a large range of motion allowing the LIIKA to conform to almost any household area, such as counter tops, windows and walls.
Four of these units manufactured for Columbus Circle mall in New York. Which included double sided touch screen panels to show the store locations and way-finding. The client came to us with a preliminary 3d model and rendering concept, and we took those and developed manufacturing drawings for production. All the parts were laser cut and re-assembled in an indexing fashion to form the sub-structure of the frame and painted. Then stainless steel panels were laser cut, formed and then peened over to form a consistent radius all around the edge as well as glass bead blasted to provide a matte finish. The units also included etched glass which was backlit to give a more elegant and upscale look.
The criteria of this project was to create a outdoor lounge chair using DupontsTM Hytrel® material. The bi-directional mesh used, has a a layer of Hytrel® woven in specific areas to provide strength and support. This is then wrapped under tension around a bent aluminum frame to make the entire piece strong. The versatility of this chair is it can be used for two people on one side, then when flipped, a full size lounge for one.
Home Made 3 Axis CNC Router Table

This is a 3 axis CNC router table which was designed, developed and manufactured by myself for the purpose of making new projects and models. It utilizes servo motors and ballscrew drive mechanisms on all three axis giving it an accuracy of +/- 0.02mm or +/- 0.001in. The system runs using linux open source cnc controller called EMC2 and is capable of reproducing both 2D and 3D files. It can machine parts in a variety of materials including acrylic, aluminum, plywood and foam.
DESCRIPTION: This was a custom chrome television stand which rotated 360 o. Its key features included 36in diameter x 1/2” thick steel plate at the base to provide stability for the LED television. As well as custom walnut veneer enclosure with a book matched pattern.
Some of the challenges to manufacturing were cutting the “L” shape out of the piece of 6”diameter steel tubing. This was done using a wire EDM machine to cut away the material. This left the edge perfect for welding and minimized the polishing required for the chroming process. Also all electrical connections run up through the floor, this meant that the internal structure as well as the rotating mechanism could not interfere with the cables.
